Silica is made of glass. (sio2 contents 94-96%).is processed at elevated temperatures, at controlled conditions to enhance the physical properties, like tensile strength etc. These fibers are then woven into various forms to suit the applications. Silica materials are applied in high temperature areas, where resistance to thermal shock, electrical insultion and thermal INSULATION is of interest. The melting point of this material as high as 1700Deg and continuously withstand exposure to 1000Deg.
Applications are found in mettulrgical, Aviation, Shipbuilding, Refineries, Electromechanicals, and Steel fabrication.
  Silica Fabrics
Silica fabrics are used as high temperature insulation, thermal protection for different branches of technique, namely for refractory paddings, gaskets and blankets, protecting from flame, splashes of molten metal, excessive heat, as a filler for composite materials, for manufacture of filters used for cleaning of the corrosive medium.
